In line with the Council’s conclusions1 on “A competitive European industry driving our green, digital and resilient future”, President von der Leyen tasked Commissioner Tzitzikostas, through her mission letter, to propose a new European Industrial Maritime Strategy to enhance the competitiveness, sustainability and resilience of Europe’s maritime manufacturing sector.

This exchange of views, hosted by MEP Isabelle Le Callennec, SEArica Vice-Chair for Maritime industries & Green Ships and organised by the SEArica Intergroup, will be the opportunity to explore the role of EMIS in advancing key EU priorities and to address potential shortcomings in European and national legislation. It will contribute to identify successful industrial dynamics and boost cooperation among key actors from EU coastal areas and islands. Outcomes of the event will also allow SEArica to spark the technical and political debate on the Clean Industrial Deal and on the functional links and synergies that it should present with the future Industrial Maritime Strategy.
